It's Snow-tober in Maryland

We had some unexpected snow this past weekend. Most trees in Maryland still have leaves and are far from being dormant, so this wet heavy snow was not really a welcomed sight.Luckily, when we emerged from the house yesterday it appears as if all our plants and trees survived the early snow.
Even our still blooming roses.
Snow wasn't the only visitor to Frederick this weekend, we also got see some family who were visiting from out of town. My aunt and uncle spent the night at our house on Friday, and then Saturday my cousin and her hubby came to see our house and my aunt from Hagerstown met us too. We had a great visit and were happy that everyone had safe travels in the snowy weather.

As I read about millions without power and several feet of snow farther north, I'm happy that all we had was a wet cold and snowy October Saturday.
