I gripped my jean jacket as close to my body as possible today during my lunch time walk with Emily, and thought to myself, "I really like October."
Now, I won't claim it's my favorite month, because I don't think I have a favorite. But October is most definitely a lovely month in the D.C. area. The past few days have been cold here, the type of weather Bogdan and I welcome with open arms. Even if I haven't had a chance to perform my Columbus Day tradition of switching out my summer wardrobe for cooler weather, I have taken several opportunities to wear my new fall boots. (So comfortable, by the way).
The leaves haven't changed yet, that will most likely happen later in the month, but the crisp air, the cold breezes, and the darker evenings signal that autumn is finally here. I might be repeating myself, but I really love living somewhere with seasons. Having spent winter, spring, and summer in our home, we're looking forward to find out what Fall will bring us.
I was looking through old photos recently and found this one from October of last year. I really love the steeples shining in the light and then Bogdan hanging out in the corner. Happy October everyone!
Love that picture! I keep trying to wear scarves, but they only last from my car to my work building in the morning... then East Texas warms up and gets too hot for scarves.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried those really lightweight scarves that are more fashion than function?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to start wearing scarves again!
