7 Quick Takes: Why do our radishes hate us?

1. Radishes only a partial fail
We planted radishes (and raspberries, basil, and dill) and unfortunately out of the 20 or so radish sprouts, only one of them came out looking like a radish. So we had it in a salad. And it was a delicious. We will try this again. Any ideas what we did wrong?

2. Post per months, I'm doing it!
I've set an arbitrary goal for myself this year. I plan to post at least 8 times a month. I figure that's a good number for a couple of reasons; 1) that's what I did in January, 2) it's an average of two posts a week, which is a nice post frequency that I enjoy as a reader of other blogs.

3. If you missed it, I posted about white wine
I mentioned in my last (and first) quick takes, that we liked white wine. I've posted about them here if you didn't get to see it.

4. Reece is adorable
I posted about Grady last week, so this week I'm going to show you how stinking cute Grady's little bro Reece is. And this face he's making is such a stinker face. I love it. I hope I get to see these guys soon, like maybe in a month or two???

5. It's war!
So we have this crazy bird that's been visiting the power line in front of our house for about a month now. Without fail, at 4 a.m. he sets up shop, and starts wailing. It's like the chirp that can't. It's terrible. We keep our attic window open so it sounds like he's sitting in the attic. I think we might need to buy a nerf gun.

6. The PERFECT summer meal
I don't know if Molly can read my mind (or if I just told her) but I've been on the hunt for a good summer meal, one that is light but filling. She sent me this recipe a while ago for a Chicken and Couscous salad, and I made it last week. It's delicious. The flavors work great together, except next time I'm going to hold back on the white wine vinegar (a full 1/4 cup is a lot of vinegar).

7. So Lost is over
Unless you live under a rock, you've probably heard that Lost is over, its season finale was on Sunday. I loved it. I'm sad the show is over, but I thought it was a great way to end the show. I was not happy with the final season in general, but overall it was still an adventure I'm glad I was a part of. If you have not watched any of Lost, do so now, but start with Season 1, episode 1 and enjoy the ride.
