I've planned this out for a couple of weeks now and thankfully the weather has complied. While we've had a few "highs in the high 60s" days, for the most part a light long sleeve shirt and a blazer has been more than acceptable attire this fall. So this morning I woke up and decided instead of putting it off all morning---and not starting until late afternoon whilst dreading it all day long---I would just go ahead and get it done. It was barely 8:30 when I emptied out my drawers, took down most of the clothes hanging in my closet and cleaned up my shoe racks.
All of this "season switching" is still relatively new to me - my closets before this apartment have always been able to fit all seasons all the time - so I had not quite mastered the whole process of packing up seasonal clothes, storing them away high on a shelf and not seeing them for 6 months.
Until today, that is! I finally figured out the most efficient way (for me) to switch out my seasonal closet. And since on Saturday we spent a good portion of the afternoon organizing the apartment and finally creating a filing system for all of our important papers/documents (go me!), I finished up my closet before 11 a.m. feeling very accomplished and very organized.
When I walked outside later to grab some coffee and read a book, I was shocked that it actually was cold enough for a scarf today (in fact, most women walking around were actually wearing scarfs), and while I didn't go back in and put one on, it made me feel very good knowing that back home piles of tights, sweaters and boots were awaiting me and easily accessible.
